Boccherini & Haydn: Works with Guitar

This IDIS new release presents the first world recording of a very rare work by Luigi Boccherini: the Symphony in C Major with ''concertante guitar'' G 523, recorded in 1959 by the Italian guitarist Elena Padovani with the Angelicum Orchestra conducted by Umberto Cattini. This is the first and so far only recording of this work with the wonderful Quintets with concertant guitar written by the composer for the Marquise Benavent in Spain, on this album, we present the famous Quintet in D Major, ending with the rousing and exciting Fandango. As the end of the album, another discographical rarity, The Quartet with Guitar by Franz Joseph Haydn performed, as the Boccherini's Quintet, by the guitarist Karl Scheit with the Vienna Konzerthaus Quartet in 1962.
